Tornadoes killed at least 24 people and destroyed more than a hundred buildings in Tennessee. One twister touched down in Nashville, causing damages to tens of buildings across 10 miles (16 km). Rescue workers provided saved many people trapped under the rubble and in wrecked basements. Several people are still missing. The governor declared an emergency and sent the National Guard to help with search-and-rescue efforts.

A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck Puerto Rico early Tuesday, killing at least one person. Governor of Puerto Rico, Mrs. Wanda Vázquez, announced the island is in an official state of emergency.
“We’ve never been exposed to this kind of emergency in 102 years,” said Mrs. Vázquez in Spanish.
